Jockey School Students Visit TOC
February 19, 2014
Evan Bladh, Kacie Woodworth, Frank Garza (seated), Erick Lopez and Kathryn Pfeffer.
The TOC office is a favorite stop for jockey school students when they visit Santa Anita. Here they are given a brief overview of the workings of the Thoroughbred Owners of California -- an important part of their education about the Thoroughbred industry.
This group of aspiring jockeys is from the Frank Garza Jockey School in Somis, California. Garza, a former jockey himself, is owner and president of the school, where students can choose from a variety of programs aimed at careers as jockeys, exercise riders, grooms and trainers. There are both resident and non-resident programs. For more information about the school, take a look at frankgarzajockeyschool.com
