Position of President of TOCJOB OFFERING FOR THE POSITION OF PRESIDENT OF TOC The TOC is currently accepting applications for the position of President of the organization. Applications for the position of President should include a brief biographical page, your educational history and degrees earned, and a complete job history. Please also include two personal references, two previous or current job references and two references from people in the thoroughbred horse racing industry. A brief explanation of your knowledge and experience in the industry would also be helpful as well as why you are applying for the job and why you think you are qualified for the job. Job requirements for the TOC President include being based at the main office in Santa Anita, while spending time at the various TOC offices where the live meet occurs, including our Northern California office at Golden Gate Fields. Knowledge and/or experience of the thoroughbred horse racing industry is essential. The TOC represents 10,000 owners in the state and is responsible for overseeing $215 million dollars in revenue. TOC serves on various industry related boards and committees, negotiates purse contracts and race meet agreements and brokers negotiations with ADW companies. The President serves as TOC's ambassador to the industry, to owners (prospective and current) and to racing fans throughout the state. Good communication skills and the ability to forge good working relationships are paramount to the job. Owners are the heart of thoroughbred racing in California, and the President of the TOC must represent their interests and their passion for racing with that same heart. The President works for the owners and at the direction of the Board of Directors. That work ethic must include the highest standards of integrity and ethics.
