Free Racehorse Seminar at Alameda County Fair July 11th, 2009
Albany, CA (June 3, 2009) – Join Thoroughbred Owners of California (TOC) for a FREE educational seminar – “Modern Veterinary Medicine” - an in-depth look at the latest techniques in equine veterinary medicine for Thoroughbred racehorses, hosted by the Alameda County Fair in Pleasanton on Saturday, July 11 at 8:30 a.m.
A panel of industry experts including Drs. Gregory Ferraro, Larry Galuppo, and Kim Kuhlmann will present the latest on equine stem cell research and new techniques in the areas of equine tendon and ligament repair, including soft tissue regeneration and joint therapy. Ferraro is the Director of the Center for Equine Health at U.C. Davis and teaches in the areas of equine surgery, racetrack medicine and surgery, and regenerative medicine. Galuppo is an Associate Professor and Chief of Equine Surgery at U.C. Davis teaching equine surgery and lameness. Kuhlmann is a private practice veterinarian with San Francisco Equine Inc. specializing in equine medicine and surgery at Northern California racetracks.
The seminar will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m. at the Pleasanton Satellite Racing Facility, located on Valley Avenue. Parking is available; enter through Gate 12.
